Length: 5 hours: 10am – 3pm
Methods: Outdoor classroom, instruction & driving on obstacle courses and trails.
Who: This class is for people wishing to lead and guide groups driving off road trails.
What’s Covered – 5 class days covering the following elements:
Level 1: Refresher of safe driving technique. Skills training include picking a line, spotting other vehicles, recovery using tow strap, kinetic energy rope, traction boards.
Level 2: Refresher of safe driving technique. Skill training include momentum, suspension compression, recovery using winch & Hi-Lift jack with workshops on the trail
Level 3: Refresher of safe driving techniques. Skills training include ‘thinking outside the box’ recovery scenarios.
Level 4: Wilderness 1st aid & excursion planning.
Level 5: Outdoor Survival Skills
Vehicle Requirements: Bring your stock (unmodified) or modified 4 wheel drive vehicle with 4-low. Vehicle must be street legal, registered, insured and drivers must have a valid license.
Vehicle Rentals: Rent a NORA trail rig for the class; contact us to confirm availability before registering. $95 for a Jeep Grand Cherokee, $125 for a Jeep Wrangler. Availability is limited..
2020-2021 Refund Policy: If NORA cancels a class/tour for any reason you will receive full credit toward another NORA event through Dec 2021. If you don’t feel well, please stay home. You may cancel for any reason before the start of class with written notice and receive full credit toward a NORA event through Dec 2021. No cash refunds will be issued.
