1 and 2-Day Public Off-Road Driving Tours

Location: Hunter Mountain Ski Bowl, Hunter, NY

For rigs with 4-Low, i.e. Wranglers, Broncos, 4-Runners and many more!
These family friendly events do not require any previous off-road driving experience but vehicles must have 4-Low gearing and recovery points. ‘Factory fresh’ and modified (lifts, bigger tires, etc.) vehicles are welcome. These tours are a great way to learn about and enjoy your 4×4 street legal vehicle’s off road capabilities. NORA staff are with you the entire day guiding, informing and contributing to a fun experience. Note full size trucks (RAM 1500, F150, etc.) will run all trails except the 20-minute summit loop due to the tight trail. Full size trucks will wait at a designated summit area and rejoin the group as they finish the loop.

Driving Tour & Summit: Whether you have experience driving off road or have never done it before, our classic guided scenic 4×4 driving tour at Hunter Mountain is designed to provide hours of great views and varying rugged terrain.  This is not hardcore rock crawling, but rather a fun adventure day driving on a ski mountain (service & logging roads, forest and ski trails) as you learn about your vehicles 4-Low capabilities. Includes lower trails, an ascent to the summit, summit trails and sky ride (if operational).
Priced per vehicle for one day, includes all passengers.

Optional Saturday Sunset Driving Tour
Want more adventure? Add a 90 minute Saturday Sunset Tour to your Saturday or Sunday day tour. Registered tour guests staying onsite at Hunter’s KMC Lodge (Fri, Sat or Sun) may participate at no additional charge. Off-site day tour guests may add on the Sunset Tour for an additional fee. Applies only to the weekend of your day tour. Saturday Sunset Tours have limited space. In the unlikely event a Sunset Tour is cancelled due to weather or trail conditions, a NORA credit will be issued, valid for one year.

PRIVATE DRIVING TOURS – Bring your personal 4×4 vehicle with 4-Low to Hunter as you follow a NORA Guide vehicle on rugged service roads, forest trails and logging roads. PRIVATE PASSENGER RIDE-ALONG – Ride as a passenger in a NORA vehicle as your NORA guide takes you on rugged service roads, forest trails and logging roads. Enjoy the adventure as you ascend to the summit and take in spectacular views.  Subject to availability weekdays and weekends, must schedule in advance.  Contact us to schedule.

IMPORTANT: Driving on the Hunter Mtn trail network is only accessible through a NORA driving tour. Unescorted vehicles on the trails are trespassing and occupants may be prosecuted.

Hunter Mountain also prohibits the operation or use of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), or aerial drones, by the general public, including recreational users and hobbyists, without prior written authorization from the Resort.
