“Recreating in the woods offers both physical & mental health benefits, and everyone deserves this quality of life opportunity. NORA’s SOAR program helps make that a reality for people with mobility impairment. NORA welcomes individuals, families and small groups to get outdoors and simply enjoy the day. It’s all about the journey!” – Scott Trager, Founder – Northeast Off Road Adventures
“I’ve used a wheelchair for 16 years. They have AMAZING outdoor activities basically any level of injury can do. MUST VISIT! I’m an incomplete C6 and drove off road in a jeep and enjoyed the wheelchair course in both the GRIT Freedom Chair and the Action Trackchair. Went with my quad rugby team and we all had a blast and WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK SOON. Thank you to Scott for building such an awesome place!!!” – Chris D. Trip Advisor – Nov 2020
“I commend you … for putting in the time and effort to create the various components of the SOAR program. Not only have you created activities that offer something for differing ability levels and interests, but both the accessibility of your facility and friendliness of staff enhance the experience. I would be remiss if I did not also mention your effort to make it affordable for guests, which in all honesty is a large part of making something accessible. So, again I thank you for all you are doing for individuals with mobility impairments! –Joseph Salva, President, Individual Abilities in Motion, United Spinal Association NE PA Chapter – Event Aug 2020
“Our family had an amazing and unique adventure at the NORA SOAR program… The breathtaking, natural atmosphere at NORA feels like you’re on another planet. We highly recommend anyone to check out this “hidden treasure in the Catskills”. – Yoel B. Trip Advisor – Oct 2020
“Finally—ADAPTIVE outdoor recreation opportunities close to NYC! … I felt really comfortable, knowing that my Dad was in good hands. I also felt good about the true ADA-accessibility of the gorgeous Training Center—from wide doors and railings to bench seating by the fireplace and a sleek stairlift. Over the next few hours, my dad used one of the off-road wheelchairs; … and before he got too tuckered out, we were off on a Jeep tour of some gnarly trails! … THANK YOU, Northeast Off-Road Adventures!”
