Review: Exciting Off Road Private Training
“I have done a lot of off-road driving as a passenger in UT. However, this time I took a course with NORA as a driver. This was a revelation for me and much more than I had expected. The course was a private instruction of 6-hr length. I brought my own car (4Runner TRD Off Road). The instructor was Alex, and he was very patient as well as a great spotter. I was able to test in practice all of the sophisticated features of 4Runner on an obstacle course. At one point I was stuck for real, and rear differential lock got me moving again (a nice way to learn what it is for). I was also allowed to bring my own kinetic recovery rope and we tested in detail my front custom recovery points as well as the one using hitch, which I wanted to do before our upcoming trip to CO and UT. I selected an easy course for the trail loop, but it could be harder if desired. I have learned a lot. By appointment only, private training is available all year round on weekdays and weekends for individuals or groups up to 6 vehicles. All training is safety focused on people, vehicle and environmental preservation.
Reserve 2 to 6 hours onsite with a private instructor and choose what you wish to learn at your own pace. Select one of our popular programs or customize your training with a mix of driving and vehicle recovery skills. You receive personal attention as we explain why, when and how to use your own vehicles’ specific features such as lockers, terrain select, downhill assist, etc. NORA rental trail rigs are available, contact us for details.

Not sure how many on-site hours work best for you? You can decide to add 1 additional hour at the end of your on-site private training for $150.
Programs (choose or customize):
– Intro to Off Road Driving (2 hrs) 1 hour obstacle course, 1 hour trail driving
– Intro Plus (3 hrs) 1 hour obstacle course, 2 hours trail driving
– Off Road Fundamentals (4 hrs) vehicle prep, obstacle courses, trail driving, strap/ke rope recovery
– Essentials Driving (5 hrs) vehicle prep, obstacle courses, trail driving
– Getting Unstuck (5 hrs) strap/ke rope recovery, traction boards, winching and challenging trail driving
– Advanced Training (5 hrs) for experienced drivers on more challenging terrain, likely includes vehicle recovery
– Multi-day w/overnight camping and night trail drive available, contact us to discuss
All NORA driving programs have been developed by our I4WDTA certified instructors with focus on learning, adventure and fun. We offer an amazing day of customized off road training for up to 4 occupants per vehicle! Our private 75 acre mountain training center has been specifically built to train off-road driving and recovery scenarios. Come to NORA where our private clients receive the same level of training we provide to our pro-service clients including emergency services, US Govt, utility companies, television personalities, journalists and more.
NORA offers private snow trail driving January – March based on trail conditions. Snow trail driving requires MT or AT tires on your vehicle or a NORA trail rig rental.
