Driving Class: Advanced Skills (Workshops & Trails):

Public class –  Registration opens soon: Sat Aug 13

This class may also be taken as Private Training with one-on-one instruction. 

Our ‘Advanced Skills’ class teaches you driving techniques to get past more challenging obstacles. The class includes workshops, trail driving and vehicle recovery on mountain terrain with focus on safety. Students may bring their own vehicles with 4-Low and front/rear recovery points or rent a NORA vehicle for use on the trails.

Length: 5 hrs on-site (9:30am – 2:30pm)
Location: Ellenville Training Center, NY
Who: This class is highly recommended for anyone who has experience operating a vehicle off-road or in low traction terrain.
Off Road Driving Experience Level: Students should have experience working with a spotter and driving off road with good throttle control. Trail ride includes rough mountain trails with steep, rocky terrain. Our Essentials, Getting Unstuck or Bootcamp classes are recommended prerequisites but are not mandatory.
What’s Covered:  Driving & vehicle recovery techniques over varying mountain terrain including steep ledges, large rocks and steep hills. Workshops and on-trail lesson including vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle self-recovery using winches w/multiple pully blocks. NORA provides all recovery gear, however students are welcome to bring their own equipment.  Class includes a 45 minute break for lunch (not included), students are encouraged to bring their own snacks, meals and non-alcoholic beverages.
Requirements: Bring your stock (unmodified) or modified 4 wheel drive vehicle with 4-low and front/rear recovery points. Vehicle must be street legal, registered & insured and recommended to have 32″ tires or larger. Drivers must have a valid domestic or international license.
Vehicle Rentals: NORA trail rig rentals are available; Contact us to reserve a trail rig before registering.
