Class: Off-Road Driving Essentials
Length: 1.5 hour virtual classroom + 5 hours on-site
Methods: Live virtual presentation is usually held on the THURSDAY prior to class (7pm-8:30pm). If you can’t attend or miss the virtual presentation, you may watch a recorded version prior to onsite instruction.
Onsite driving & lessons are usually 9:30am – 2:30pm on class day with NORA instructors and guides by your side.
Who: This class is an excellent choice for anyone wishing to learn safe, low speed off road driving techniques used in Overlanding and recreational/commercial off road driving.
What’s Covered: This two-part class (virtual presentation & onsite instruction) covers 4 wheel drive systems, driving on woodland and mountain terrain, working with a spotter, minimizing environmental impact and off-road driving safety. Students drive on our obstacle courses and navigate our 75-acre trail networks with instructors and guides walking by their side. There are plenty of natural terrain obstacles used as lesson stops along the way.
Vehicle Requirements: Bring your stock (unmodified) or modified 4 wheel drive vehicle with 4-low and front/rear recovery points.  Vehicle must be street legal, registered, insured and drivers must have a valid license.
Vehicle Rentals: Rent a NORA trail rig for the class; contact us to confirm availability before registering. $175 for a Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ or Cherokee XJ, $275 for a Jeep Wrangler TJ or JK.
Lunch on the trail is included: We have supported our local economy for many years by offering lunch selections from local markets.
