Three days of Learning, Adventure & Fun!
NORA has partnered with Women Wheelers, LP (MischiefMakerjku) to offer you a comprehensive 3 day educational experience at our beautiful private training facility. Classes and workshops for beginners through advanced experience levels including classroom, obstacle courses, recovery gear workshops, day and night trail rides. Enjoy camaraderie with our challenge competitions! Lunch is included for each day. Women drivers only, men are welcome as passengers. Pricing is for driver, up to one passenger and your own vehicle. Rental vehicles are available at an additional $300 per rig for all 3 days, contact us to reserve a vehicle before registering for the class.
Class: Women Wheelers Weekend @ NORA
Length: Fri Oct 11 9am-5:00pm; Sat Oct 12 9am-7:30pm; Sun Oct 13 9am – 1:00pm
Methods: Indoor classroom, workshops, driving & lessons on obstacle courses, driving & lessons on beginner & intermediate trails.
Who: This class/event is recommended for all experience levels of drivers, from those who have never taken their rig off-road to those seeking to hone their existing skills. This training event will increase your driving/recovery skills experience and boost your confidence in your abilities.
Lodging: Options include our nearby lodging partners, AirBnB housing secured by Women Wheelers or free on-site primitive camping at our private mountain top facility. Contact us for details.
What’s Covered:
Friday: Guests have the option of selecting our beginner or advanced programs. Beginner group will take our ‘Off-Road Driving Essentials’ class which focuses on core off-road driving skills including 4 wheel drive systems, driving on different types of terrain, working with a spotter, minimizing environmental impact and off-road driving safety on our beginner trail network. Advanced group will focus on driving safety, spotter workshops, driving technique and thinking ‘outside the box’ while wheelin our advanced trail network. Both groups enjoy lessons on the trail.
Saturday: All guests attend our Vehicle Recovery Class & workshops to learn safe technique for winching and using the Hi-Lift jack and its accessories. Guests return to their beginner or advanced groups to put their new knowledge to the test on our trail systems. Both groups enjoy a catered dinner meal at our beautiful training center then hit the trails in the evening for a group night ride.
Sunday: Put your new driving skills to the test with driving challenges followed by a lunch awards ceremony & photo recap (photos will be made available to all guests within 2 weeks of the event). Good-byes by 2pm as guests head out for their travel destinations.
Vehicle Requirements: Stock (unmodified) & modified 4 wheel drive vehicles with 4-low; rear vehicle recovery point (i.e. frame mounted hook or tow hitch). Vehicle must be street legal, registered, insured and drivers must have a valid license/permit.
[1] All guests must sign waivers.
[2] Event may be cancelled if registration minimum is not met by October 1, 2019. If that occurs, all registered guests will receive a full refund to their credit card by Oct 8, 2019.
[3] We reserve the right to cancel the event by 5pm Oct 9 due to severe weather forecast (i.e. hurricane). If that occurs, all guests will be notified by 5pm Oct 9 and will receive a full refund to their credit card by Oct 16, 2019.
