U.S. Government: NORA has been a US Government approved vendor since 2016. Staff from Secret Service and the department of Health & Human Services have received a wide range of training including driving & vehicle recovery skills, day and night scenario simulations, project management risk identification and mitigation strategies.  HHS are Federal Emergency Responders who sometimes operate in disaster areas without backup. NORA training in mid-2017 helped this team navigate wind strewn debris fields to deliver needed medications and assistance to Hurricane Maria victims in Puerto Rico.

Fire Department: NORA is pleased to offer discounted pricing and free trail rig rentals to volunteer fire departments at our Ellenville public classes. The Congers, NY Fire Department is a great example of our partnership program. In 2019, NORA provided driving and vehicle recovery skills training at the Congers, NY Fire Station to about 30 volunteer firefighters. We later field-trained their drivers how to navigate their new Brush Truck over woodland obstacles and experience hands-on vehicle recovery training using commercial grade equipment which we recommended.  We continue to work with the department on field training, and they send their drivers to NORA’s Off-Road Driving Essentials public classes to give them driving-seat experience in low-traction terrain and environments.

Power & Utility: NORA has provided customized winch safety and vehicle recovery training to Central Hudson Gas & Electric lineman and management.  NORA continues to work with Central Hudson to develop custom safety training solutions.

NY State Search & Rescue: NORA has provided venue space for NYS Search & Rescue teams for certification training in Wilderness First Aid by American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) trainers. NORA has also donated venue space and resources for full day training of NYS Federation of Search & Rescue K9 Teams

NY State Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation: NORA donated staff instructors and guides with vehicles to bring management, forest rangers and staff to remote sites to evaluate area erosion and discuss opportunities to open legal OHV use in certain lower NYS land tracts.
