Class: Basic First Aid for Off-Road Driving Injuries
Length: 9am-4pm
Methods: Indoor classroom, workshops, field demonstrations with staged recovery scenarios.
Who: This class is recommended for anyone who operates or is a passenger in an off-road vehicle.
What’s Covered: This unique full-day class looks at off-road situations that have a higher than usual risk of injury. Learn safe technique via workshops to mitigate injury risks from winching, vehicle roll-overs, burns and more, but also learn how to treat likely resulting injuries if they do occur with an ASHI certified first aid instructor.
Vehicle Requirements: This is a ‘dismounted’ class, there is no driving. This class has no prerequisites and is open to students age 12 or older (under 17 must be accompanied by an adult). 9am-4pm
* Matt Sirni is an ASHI certified first aid instructor and NYS EMT with 23 years experience in street and wilderness EMS. As the leader of a Search and Rescue team in the Adirondacks, Matt will share his knowledge of back woods emergencies and how to prepare and react to the unexpected. Advanced registration required. Class limited to 20 participants.
