Class: Recreational Off-Road Recovery Skills
Length: 5 hrs: 10am-3pm
Methods: Classroom, workshops, field demonstrations with hands-on staged recovery scenarios.
Who: This class is highly recommended for Overlanding and recreational off-road driving.
What’s Covered: This class focuses on safe recovery techniques using winches, Hi-Lift jacks, tow straps, kinetic energy ropes and traction aid devices. Class covers techniques for vehicle to vehicle and self-recovery using NORA recovery gear and NORA vehicles.
Pandemic Related: All students must wear a mask or face covering as per order by NYS. The classroom portion may be held in our training center or under our outdoor pavilion depending on class size and social distancing requirements.
Bring Your Own Gear (Optional): Students are encouraged to bring their own recovery gear for evaluation by NORA instructors as we review safe vs. unsafe recovery equipment.
Vehicle Requirements: None. This class does not include student off-road driving. All workshops and recovery scenarios use NORA vehicles and equipment.
Multi-Student Discount: Add up to three additional students on one registration and save, great for clubs and groups. Pricing per registration:
1 Student: $275
2 Students: $450 ($225 per student)
3 Students: $600 ($200 per student)
4 Students: $700 ($175 per student)
Includes coffee, tea, bottled water and light snacks. Please bring your own lunch. Please allow up to 48 hours after registration checkout to receive an email with additional class details.
2020-2021 Refund Policy: If NORA cancels a class/tour for any reason you will receive full credit toward another NORA event through Dec 2021. You may cancel one-time for any reason with 72 hours written notice and receive full credit toward a NORA event through Dec 2021. No cash refunds will be issued.
