9am – 2pm onsite + 1.5 hour virtual presentation
All NORA driving programs have been developed by our I4WDTA certified instructors with focus on learning, adventure and fun. Having worked with over 7,000 clients since 2011, we are pleased to offer an amazing day of customized off road training for up to 4 occupants per vehicle! Our private 75 acre mountain training center has been specifically built to train off-road driving and recovery scenarios. Come to NORA where our private clients receive the same level of training received by vehicle manufacturers, US Govt, utility companies, emergency services, broadcast tv personalities, journalists and both international & domestic off road specialty drivers.
Class includes an online presentation (live or recorded), onsite obstacle courses & trail driving under supervision of instructors and guides. We will tailor your onsite training to your needs, from Overlanding to recreational off road driving & recovery. Bring your own vehicle with 4-Low, rent a NORA trail rig for the day or mix your AWD vehicle with a NORA trail rig. All training is safety focused with themes of people, vehicle and environmental preservation. All of your onsite time at NORA will be outdoors or in your vehicle.
Class: Private Driving Instruction (up to 3 vehicles, contact us for larger groups)
Length: 1.5 hour virtual classroom + 5 hours on-site
Methods: Live virtual classroom or watch recorded version prior to onsite instruction.
Onsite driving & lessons with NORA instructors and guides by your side.
Who: This class is an excellent introduction for anyone wishing to learn safe, low speed off road driving techniques used in Overlanding and recreational/commercial off road driving. Our private training program is also popular with families and groups seeking adventure!
What’s Covered: This two-part class (virtual presentation & onsite instruction) includes an overview of 4 wheel drive controls, driving on woodland and mountain terrain, working with a spotter, minimizing environmental impact and off-road driving safety. Students drive our obstacle courses and drive beginner & intermediate trails with instructors walking by their side. Onsite terrain includes driving over rocks, ledges, tight woodland trails and hill sections.
Vehicle Requirements: Bring your 4-Low equipped 4WD vehicle or rent a NORA trail rig. You may also bring your AWD vehicle (i.e. Subaru Crosstrek) to use on a portion of the trail, then switch to a NORA trail rig for more difficult terrain. Vehicle must be street legal, registered, insured and drivers must have a valid license.
When Offered: Private training is available all year round. In winter months we offer Snow Trail Driving & Recovery based on trail conditions. We strongly recommend renting a NORA trail rig for training to drive on snow covered mountain terrain.
