NORA’s Overland Excursions are educational, informative and fun! Each trip includes Overland training elements for off road driving & vehicle recovery, cooking and camping. All trips avoid highways in favor of scenic back roads, dirt roads, trails and points of interest, yet each is different as the routes change with each trip. Trips include camping at beautiful park campsites or private venues. Participants are welcome to make their own lodging arrangements if they prefer, registered participants will be given the exact location for each overnight. This excursion is led by our friends at Exploring New Hampshire and includes covered bridges, short hikes to waterfalls, and charming small towns where supplies can be replenished or a restaurant meal can be enjoyed.

Happy October, this training trip has a Ghost theme! This trip has one base camp with a goal of around 50+ miles on dirt & rocky trails for each day. The tour includes cemeteries, cellar holes, abandoned properties and a night run to a lone grave. Your guides have plenty of local knowledge and folklore to share with you. Remember to keep your doors locked!  Our Ghost Tour is open to stock or modified vehicles with 4-LOW and front/rear recovery points.

Length: 3-Day Excursion or 4-Day Training & Excursion
Starting Location 3-Day (Fri-Sun): This trip starts in upstate NY where you will meet the rest of the group at a named location. Participants will then travel as a group through NY, MA and NH.
Starting Location 4-Day (Thu-Sun): This trip begins at NORA’s Ellenville training center and includes a 1.5 hour recorded class presentation viewed prior to your onsite, plus 5 hours of off road driving and vehicle recovery training for Overlanding. Overnight camping on-site is free, and you will leave in the morning to meet up with the rest of the group at a named location in upstate NY.
Who: This family friendly class/tour is an excellent introduction for anyone wishing to learn broaden their Overlanding knowledge and experience. Great for adventure seeking individuals, couples and families. This class/tour offers the opportunity to learn about and experience gear used for Overlanding. Includes driving, cooking and camping.
Lodging: Campsite fees are included.
Meals: Meals are not included, however there will be at least one cooking lesson where you are welcome to sample the food.
Requirements: Bring your stock (unmodified) or modified 4 wheel drive vehicle with 4-low and front/rear recovery points. Select AWD vehicles with front/rear recovery points can participate as well (contact us for more info).  Vehicle must be street legal, registered & insured and have a full size spare tire in good condition. Drivers must have a valid drivers license.
Vehicle Rentals: NORA rental vehicles are not available for this class/tour.
