ASHI Wilderness First Aid Certification
Sunday Aug 09 – Monday Aug 10, 2020
With this comprehensive 16 hour class, first aid providers in a remote setting will be better prepared to respond when faced with limited resources, longer patient care times, and decisions about when and how to evacuate an ill or injured person. This wilderness first aid course meets or exceeds the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid Curriculum and Doctrine Guidelines, 2017 Edition.
Upon successful completion of the course, an ASHI Wilderness First Aid certification card will be issued, valid for 2 years. The card will contain an access code for a digital book and app on your mobile devices.
Class includes presentations, workshops and outdoor skill sessions in the neighboring forest. Cost: $275 per person including all practice materials and certification card at the successful completion.
Class is limited to 12 students. If sold out please contact us to be added to the waitlist. Additional classes will be added based on demand.
NORA provides the venue space at our private 75-acre mountain top training facility. The instructor is Matt Sirni, a Wilderness EMT, NYS EMT, and Certified Wilderness Search Crew Boss. The certification is through the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI). Advanced registration required.
NORA has modified our refund policy to handle NYS’s changing restrictions on businesses due to pandemic status. If the class is canceled for any reason we will do our best to reschedule it as soon as possible; students will receive full credit toward another NORA activity through Dec 2021. Students may cancel up to the first day of class and receive full credit toward another NORA activity through Dec 2021. No refunds, NORA credit only.
