Pricing: $1,800 per Adventure Van with all Passengers

Adventure Vans!  This 2-day class is held at our Ellenville, NY training center where you will receive professional training in key areas to improve your off road driving abilities. This program builds a solid foundation of off road driving and basic vehicle recovery skills and includes trail driving in your own Adventure Van. The class is for people with experience levels ranging from none to intermediate.

Training Event Includes:

Pre-Onsite: 1.5 hour recorded online presentation viewed prior to on-site instruction includes 4×4 systems & safety, tips for driving on low traction terrain and insight to mitigate risk of vehicle damage.

Day 1 (12pm – 5pm):
Students receive a solid foundation of off road driving skills as they spend their day driving NORA rental vehicles through obstacle courses, hill trails, rocks, and winding forest terrain with instructors walking alongside. Lessons on the trail help illustrate safe off road driving technique. Day 1 topics also include pre-trip preparations, vehicle maintenance & dealing with common vehicle problems. Lunch on the trail is included.

Day 2 (9am – 2pm):
Students learn the basics of vehicle recovery gear and safe techniques through hands on workshops and trail experiences using NORA rental vehicles and recovery equipment. The day includes students driving their own Adventure Vans on the trails to learn their vehicles capabilities and limitations in addition to a spotting workshop. Lunch is included.

Optional – Hunter Mountain Summit: An optional add-on driving tour to the summit of Hunter Mountain extends the adventure training to 3 days. Explore Hunter’s summit with amazing views of the Catskills. This option has limited availability, indicate in the registration field below if you are interested in attending. Price for add-on to be announced.

Boondocking on-site at the NORA is available at no charge for the evening before Day 1 training and the Day 1 overnight. Students taking the optional Hunter Mountain Summit Tour may also boondock at no charge for the Day 2 overnight.

Vehicle Requirements: Bring your stock (unmodified) or modified 4×4 Adventure Van with 4-Low, rear recovery point (i.e. tow hooks or hitch) and at least 8″ of ground clearance. Vehicle must be street legal, registered, insured and drivers must have a valid license. Call us with any questions.

7 days prior to class date: Full credit
6 days up to day before class date: Full credit less $50 service fee
Day of class – 50% credit
