Sample what TEAM NORA has to offer!
This fun filled day of workshop rotations will take you through different outdoor skills mini-learning stations as a sample to more in-depth training opportunities for off-road driving and survival skills. Great for individuals, groups, families and friends. Activities take place both indoors and outside, rain or shine- bring appropriate outdoor wear. Participants must be in good physical health and able to hike short distances on easy to moderate rugged terrain.
**Dress comfortably for the weather, skills are held in indoor training rooms and outdoors.
Station 1: First Aid Kits (Led by Matt Sirni)
Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it! Learn what First Aid supplies you should be carrying on your next outdoor adventure. More importantly, learn how to use the supplies in your First Aid Kit.
Station 2: Off-Road Driving (Led by NORA)
Ride with a NORA instructor and experience our obstacle course and trail network as you learn basic off-road driving technique. Work as a team to help navigate your vehicle over various off-road challenges.
Station 3: Fire Building (Led by CAPTART)
Your vehicle is stuck in the woods and AAA is unable to help (you should have taken a NORA vehicle recovery class!). Learn what to pack in your emergency bag and methods to build a fire in the woods for warmth, signal and safety.
Station 4: Shelter Building (Led by CAPTART)
Get ready for a long night ahead! You will learn skills needed to build a shelter using natural resources to survive a night in the woods.
Skills training stations are staffed by NORA, Captive Audience (CAPTART) & Matt Sirni.
In the event of severe inclement weather, we reserve the right to substitute activities.
