Driving Club Adventure @NORA for groups of 4 – 10 vehicles (7 rental rigs available)

NORA welcomes driving clubs to enjoy a unique day of Learning, Adventure & Fun. Includes off road driving instruction, trail ride, lunch and mountain back-roads driving tour. Use your personal vehicle equipped with 4-Low or rent a NORA trail rig for the class. While each event may be a customized experience, here is a sample day with pricing:

Pre-onsite Class Video
All guests are invited to watch 45 minute online safety & briefing video to learn what to expect during your NORA visit.

10am: Optional Workshop- Mastering the Manual in 4-Low
Manual transmissions behave differently in 4-Low and require you to re-learn basic driving technique to safely control your rig, especially on mountain terrain. Arrive early for this optional workshop to learn how to effectively use the manual gearbox when driving off-road (required if reserving a NORA rental w/manual).

10:30am: General Arrival & Training Video Q&A
Arrive at NORA’s private 75-acre training center in your personal vehicle. Check in, enjoy coffee and treats while you check out the NORA off road fleet. Our instructors will answer any Q’s before your day begins.

11am: Obstacle Course Driving
Learn control & technique as you work with your instructor to precisely guide your rig over large rocks, logs and natural terrain.

12pm: Getting Unstuck: Basics
This workshop helps you experience common reasons for getting stuck and our instructors clearly show you how to keep moving forward using driving techniques and recovery gear.

1pm: Campsite Lunch
Pre-order your favorite deli-style sandwich or salad. NORA has partnered with local markets catering our delicious meals for over 10 years.

1:30pm: Trail Ride
Drive your rig convoy style on rugged mountain terrain with steep hills, rocks, and woodland trails with instructors walking alongside. Each vehicle receives a NORA radio to maintain instructor and group communication.

3pm – 4pm: Finale – Precision Off Road Driving Competition OR Back Roads Tour 
Your group may choose to finish the day with a precision driving competition on NORA’s obstacle course for well-deserved bragging rights!
OR
Depart NORA in your personal vehicle for a 1 hour scenic driving tour through the Shawangunk Mountain back roads. Enjoy local twisties and views on the “Path Less Traveled” following your guide in one of NORA’s own classic cars. Your NORA guide leads you back to a main road with a straight run to a major NY Route for your journey home.

4:30pm: Optional Group Dinner Reservation
Enjoy more scenic driving as your NORA guide leads you to a local eatery for a reserved meal to celebrate the day.
