Our semi-private option offers personalized attention at a very attractive rate as first come, first served. Contact us with date requests and we will add you to the wait list and do our best to book up to 3 other student vehicles. Class requires at least 2 student vehicles registered to run, maximum is 4. Weekday and weekend dates available, contact us for more info.
Private Training – Customized Instruction in Ellenville
$599 per person, per day (2 person minimum)
We’ll customize a single or multi-day program using your vehicles or ours. NORA private training is personalized and helps students gain valuable experience in preparation for recreational off-road driving or Overland trips domestic and abroad. Weekday and weekend dates available, contact us for more info.
Specialized Training – Customized Instruction at other locations
Interested in training options for your unique needs? We offer solutions such as scenario simulations in NY or alternate locations including Moab, UT and Silver Lake, MI. Contact us to start planning your event.
Classroom Introductory Classes
$99 per person. We offer informative classes at our Ellenville training center. Check our registration page as topics will change throughout the year. Classes are 2 hours long and include a trail ride as a passenger in one of our vehicles. Perfect for a morning mountain get-a-way.

Driving Skills: Basics & Beginner (classroom & trail):
Drive our obstacle course, off-camber trails, hills & more. Your day features lessons with real off-road scenarios on natural terrain at our 68 acre mountain top facility. Learn the hows and whys to navigate your vehicle off-road at our beginner class. Offered at least once a month in Ellenville spring – fall
Recovery Skills: Straps, KE Ropes & Winch (classroom & trail):
A full day of learning safe techniques & best practices for using straps, kinetic energy ropes and winches. Topics & field exercises include recovery using vehicle to anchor, vehicle to vehicle, use of pulley blocks and more. Offered in Ellenville, all training gear provided.
Recovery Skills: Traction Aids & Hi-Lift Jack (classroom & trail):
A full day of learning how to get unstuck using traction aid devices & Hi-Lift Jack. Topics include recovery in sand, on slopes and on rocky terrain. Includes review and use of the Hi-Lift jack & its accessories along with traction aid devices. Offered in Ellenville, all training gear provided.
Driving Skills: Advanced (classroom & trail):
A full day of learning how to navigate steep slopes, rocky terrain, and spotting as a guide. Class includes lessons using lockers and sway bar disconnects on challenging terrain. Our recovery skills training classes are recommended pre-requisites. Offered in Ellenville, all training gear provided.
Off-Road Vehicle Essentials & Emergency Survival (classroom):
This introductory class explains core off-highway vehicle (OHV) driving concepts to people who have never driven off-road before. Topics include 4WD controls, impact of vehicle handling when driving off-road, and a suggested checklist of items to include in your vehicle. Common stuck scenarios along with ‘self-preservation’ options are also covered. Class includes a short off-road trail ride as a passenger in one of our vehicles.

Our guides take great care to help you navigate the trails through the day, however the risk of some damage always exists. All students must sign a personal and property liability waiver before the start of any class.
